2010 was so long ago.

Today I was checking my stats on Etsy where I have a shop. Not man peope visit my shop but Etsy is so big I am happy that anyone can find me. Anyway today someone came to visit from Bloglovin, hello to you, and to be honest I had forgotten I had even posted there. Time to visit my 2009-2010 self. This was before I had my own website and what I do today is so far removed from then I am quietly impressed with myself. I still love paper but now I also include, egg shells, wire, Tyvek and coke bottles. I guess I must somehow have slipped into recycle or upcycle mode, not by a conscious decision but the appeal of the material itself. Eggshells have a lovely fine mosaic look when painted and varnished. Wire is maleable and you can make wire wrap creations or crochet with it. Tyvek is used to insulate houses, as a ground sheet or as wrist bands at your favourite night club. However paint it and add heat it takes on a life of its own as it melts and curls and sets to a hard bead. Coke bottles are everwhere, mostly not where they sholds be. I cut them up, paint them, add heat and again they come alive, very much like those nature shows were the flowers open slowly and become something beautiful. The coke bottle shrinks, and curls and it is mesmerising to watch. So look back to 2010 compared to where you are today. Have you grown as a person as well as in your chosen passion. Change happens so slowly you do not notice the improvements untill you look back and wonder was that what I was doing. Have a great 2014
